i had similar problem in when I disabled microphone on my kinect 2.
i wanted to avoid recording and instead of mute I stopped driver I think 🙂
as result behavior was exactly like in your case. do you think something like that could happen ?
secondly you can try uninstall drivers and then install them but first configure compatibility with windows 7 on the microsoft installer.
last, why do you think it reconnect every few seconds ? did you run any app form kinect sdk ?
