I actually had one of these, but I threw it away :(.
What is color tracking like in the current build of D4VR?
Is it restricted to full body only? Unlike 4.X that will release with color based lower body tracking?missingchromieParticipant@”Greg Driver”

What you had in that preview was amazing, what is stopping you from releasing a preview for us? I would be glad to report on any issues that I encounter. Including log files and or a video or two.
missingchromieParticipantI forgot to add that, if you’re willing to release a beta for 4.X I would be happy to test it, and to help iron out any issues that it has. I don’t know if this helps but I program in a number of languages and have been doing so for a few years now. (mainly C#) My point being is that I can break down the problems that may exist in your application from an end users perspective.
I mainly would like to help, because I’m interested in the technology and the utility of your software.
Kind regards, John.
missingchromieParticipantThe help doesn’t solely have to be provided by you. The members of the D4VR community can work together to help bring issues to focus and to share their configurations, showing what works and doesn’t.
I would be more than happy to assist anyone as well as learn from others on the discord it self. So I think it would be very good for the community to have a discord to voice their problems.
missingchromieParticipantIt would appear that the tracking balls need to be on top of the avatars feet before you grip your controller and begin playing. I was wondering if you could make it so that when you load in, the tracking balls are already located at the feet position of the avatar, you can assume that the person is standing. This would make it easier and would require less tweaking for the end user, rather than the tracking indicators having to be manually placed on the avatars feet.
missingchromieParticipantThe 360 kinect has a color image resolution of 640 x 480 pixels with a fov of 62 x 48.6 degrees resulting in an average of about 10 x 10 pixels per degree.
The xbox one kinect has color image resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a fov of 84.1 x 53.8 resulting in an average of about 22 x 20 pixels per degree.
missingchromieParticipantSounds like a calibration issue. Have you properly gone though the calibration process?
missingchromieParticipantIt is the kinect causing the issue, I moved it to a usb 3.0 port and I can now use my controllers. I would have already done this but every time I use my 3.0 ports for the oculus devices it states that its incompatible.
This information is relevant to anyone else who may be having similar issues.
missingchromieParticipantWait, I might’ve found the issue.. I only get the poor tracking quality messages when I have the kinect plugged in.
I de-registered your driver then uninstalled the software.
Restarted my computer.
Then noticed that I was still getting the poor tracking error messages.
Disconnected the kinect.
Restart my computer once again, and now I don’t have the issue.Do you know what the cause of this might be?
missingchromieParticipantIf you want the log file from d4vr here.

missingchromieParticipantWould you like me to record this or something, I know its not my sensors, and it shouldn’t be my hardware.
missingchromieParticipantI uninstalled driver, and replugged in my sensors. They are all good now. But before with the driver installed it didn’t fix it.
missingchromieParticipantI will restart now.
missingchromieParticipantYes, when I restart my computer.. and open oculus without driver running it states that both of my sensors are not functioning properly, as well as my oculus headset occasionally.
missingchromieParticipantI know its not my sensors that are at fault. It would be unlikely that both of them would fail at the same time. I have swapped usb ports as well. I will uninstall d4vr then restart to verify that it is the d4vr software causing the issue.
missingchromieParticipantNo, after restart oculus still reports that both of my sensors have poor tracking quality.
missingchromieParticipantIs there a solution to this? I would like to give this software a second go 🙂
Does your software need both steamvr and oculus running to work?
What requirements must I meet to achieve the optimum functionality of your software?
I would love to get this working so I can one up those vive puck users 😛 come on.
missingchromieParticipantI am dying
missingchromieParticipantYea, even when driver isnt running. I’ve restarted my computer 3 times now. Oculus is reporting poor tracking quality for both of my sensors.
missingchromieParticipantAs a side note my oculus is also reporting poor tracking quality.
missingchromieParticipantThe issue with visibility would still exist, if you turn perpendicular to your sensor the side opposite of the sensor will still not be visible.
I think it would be interesting if you could use more than one kinect..
missingchromieParticipantOn a side note, after using the software, if I try to play a vr game without it, it shows that my sensors aren’t working properly (via oculus software) I know the issue isn’t actually both of my sensors.
missingchromieParticipant@Greg Driver
I have gotten of he point where I can get my tracking to work by adjusting the hip and leg offsets but when in game (vr chat) I am given an orb and a controller for my hands and a controller and an orb for my feet. I do not have color tracking on and the only time I’ve gotten it to work was when my controllers appeared as touch controllers on my hands while in T pose and when my feet were orbs. I cannot get past this issue, It would be greatly appreciated if I could receive some assistance.
If you need any further info / video / screen shot / log file just ask. Thanks, John.
missingchromieParticipantAnd yes the values change as I move.
missingchromieParticipantThis may be my own error, but I don’t see how I could have caused this issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software for my own testing and upon reading the log files left behind after my latest uninstall I read that on
2018-01-09 22:45:38:, I was running version 3.2.0.0 and later on at
2018-01-10 13:26:15 it states that version 3.1.0.0 was being initialized.I don’t know why it would revert to a previous version, I have been installing and reinstalling from a single installer, but I believe that your installer is network based so it shouldn’t matter.
Here is the log file. (I’ve added my own comments explaining towards the bottom of the log file.)
missingchromieParticipantThis is what it currently looks like without running. I’m wanting mainly to have lower body tracking in conjunction with the existing tracking that the oculus touch controllers and headset offer.
Also it may be worth noting that when I have the driver4vr software running neither oculus home nor steam home have tracking on my touch controllers or headset so my head location is at the floor and hands do not move. I have to uninstall the software in order for the additional sensors that the kinect offers to be removed from the steam vr display. This could be because I haven’t been able to calibrate my head position properly.
Thanks, John.
