Strange problem with kinect 360

I recently got a kinect 360 and proceded to install all the drivers as the forum explained, the computer recogniced the kinect and after that I used the developer tools to test if the kinect was working properly because the kinect had the green light flashing forever. I tested the skeleton tracking demo from the developer tools and it actually worked, I was able to see the skeleton moving with my movements but for some weird reason is not detected anywhere outside the developer tools including driver4VR.
I need some help to make driver4VR detect kinect or make kinect be detected by everything.
