    Dear Greg,
Is Bluetooth stack of windows 10 ok for supporting a daydream controller (virtoba S1).
Mine appears to paired and connected in BT Device manager but while testing in the device test windows of DRIVER4VR, nothing.. ! The device is well listed but even the button state do not responds to action.

Any idea ? maybe try a different bluetooth stack ?

    Thanks,
    Eddy, Belgium.

    hi.
yes i was using it quite often. they pair very easily but often have issues. so i need to either unpair and pair again, or reset putting pin in small hole between power up and down.

    @danank96

    I did this

    Reinstall SteamVR
    Reinstall Vridge
Reinstall Driver4VR ver.3.2.0.0 (And Registre the Driver)
Install Drive4VR ver.3.4.0.0 (And Registre the Drive)

    Works for me

Greg, i tested this version and the 3.6.0.0 and i sent you an email

For me I could notice, that version 3.4.0.0 is with almost non-lag or high CPU usage with the color calibration

    Hi Greg,

Still doing some tests with a Virtoba S1 daydream controller: No way…

I probably should do something wrong but without any kind of documentation, i can not go further…
The device connect in bluetooth, is seen by Driver4VR…but then…? What’s next ?
i attache 2 screen captures, i probably forgot some big step but as i said: with no documentation, no direction…. where can i go ?
    regards,
    Eddy.
PS: by the way, the device respond under android with a simple test tool. So it can connect and is not broken.

in the vrsettings you send me first time I can see that you did not selected head and hand tracking. you can try setting them to kinect/skeleton for example

    @greg
I am not sure what steamvrsettings should we use?
I created a steamvrsettings when I configured psmovebridge, but I think this will not work with driver4vr. (I followed one of Daley videos on youtube, at that moment)

i am not saying you need create but that I can only see you don’t have any source of hand or head tracking. do you have head and hand controllers selected to kinect skeleton tracking ?

can you please send me logs as described here?

    About daydream/virtoba-S1 controller:
It has never worked before i tried the 3.7.1

I’m using Vridge beta with Riftcat2 and moonlight latest android version.

Do i need to select some kind of handtracking in driver4vr for the daydream controller to work in steamVR ?

    #2505
    Bla BlablaGreg Driver

yes. you need select head and hand tracking. best start with kinect skeleton.

    Greg,
i don’t have any kinect hardware ! Headtracking is done by smartphone via Vridge.

Also, can you write if you reply to me or bad.boo ?

    Thanks,
    Eddy

ok. so you don’t have any tracking of head. there is also no way I can tell where your hands are because there is no device to track them. not sure if I can do anything right now for you. one thing that goes in my mind would be hard-coded position of controllers relative to current head position.

Do i need to install Kinect SDK or Runtime ?
    (i don’t have any kinect hw…)

    cross post.. 😉

    Yes, nice idea !

Head tracking is working fine in STEAM VR with vridge and the sensors of my mobile phone (gyro and accelero).

So, all i need is the daydream pointer working 🙂

in steam VR apps like EARTH-VR and Droid repair, i can move my head and look anywhere (360°)

but i have no way to interact with environment or 3d selection menu appearing…until i get that daydream ctrl working one way or another ?

    thanks

    hi.
you can rotate head but it is stuck in space.
that is very interesting idea to provide static position of controller.
if you don’t have kinect then I am afraid installing sdk will not help.
can can probably play google earth. but in labs only teleport. and in droid repair you cannot move controller to anything.
that is how I think things are. if you have any idea how this can be done without any tracking device then let me know.

    Oh yes, i see…. 🙁

So, what do i need to play a little bit, knowing i have a not-at-all-powerfull config ?
A kinect xbox 360 controller like this one:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/XBOX-360-Microsoft-Kinect-Sensor-Bar-Only-Black-/152862140249
    and some illuminated balls ?
Do you have tuto or video, so i can learn a bit more on that ?

    Thanks !

Previously I could select a setting at the bottom of the program where I could press a button, (grip, system and something else) then I would pick another thing to the left of it to “move” and be able to move myself with the button I assigned. Now it won’t do this. Sorry this is explained badly, I don’t have it in front of me currently.

this is not working yet after OpenVR update which was major change… working on it now.

Also have a question about the leg fixes and how it switches legs less. Is there a way that I can improve tracking of my feet without more kinects. (At this point there are too many wires I don’t want anymore.)

So far skeleton for head and hand works better, but I get some conflict at some point.
Not sure what is going on.

    thanks for looking into that.

    Hi!

I face similar issues with my (original) Daydream controller.
Today I installed the latest Driver4VR software.
In Windows 10 Bluetooth menu it is listed as paired (not connected!). Driver4VR recognizes it, but none of it’s input. The preview tab looks like in the image ecou2508 posted before.
Shouldn’t the controller’s button input be recognized without connecting the Kinect?
I also installed AntiMicro to see if the Daydream controller is recognized. Unfortunately it can’t see it at all.
It seems that for some reason the computer doesn’t want to accept the Daydream controller. Any idea how to fix this?

Next week I will get my Kinect and would be happy to use it with the daydream controller.

did you try unofficial build? i shared this on one thread and should address daydream problem even without kinect like you say.

I re-paired the controller and the logs look better. But I still can’t use it. The preview doesn’t show any reaction.

As I have no Kinect yet, but a Leap Motion, I set the tracking to Leap Motion and assigned the daydream controller to the left controller.

i can see in below logs you should be able to see it once

    2018-01-23 22:31:07: Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – test notification #1
    2018-01-23 22:31:07: Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – test notification #2
    2018-01-23 22:31:07: Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – test notification #3
    2018-01-23 22:31:07: Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – test notification #4
    2018-01-23 22:31:07: Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – test notification #5

but then at the very end execution it failed again
2018-01-23 22:39:48: Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – error when registering for notifications: Unreachable

This can be en error in microsoft as they describe here

I occasionally have issue similar to yours but usually after restart it works. I tested original daydream and virtoba s1 on few machines.

It’s weird. It always fails at “Daydream Device (&1594dd15&) – error when registering for notifications: Unreachable”

I doubt that it is a Windows issue since you aren’t having this problem. Maybe I’ll just buy 2 5$ controllers and see if they work.

ok. i was planning to give a bit more features to vr gamepads cause they now only follow head. in week probably as i address few current issue.s

anyway i did reset of daydream really too often. it pairs quickly but 30% cases in bluetooth manager I can see info about driver error :/
