    So i’m having this issue where the kinect doesn’t even see me.

    Issue

    You can see that the positional tracking of my oculus is working just not the kinect.

    This also happens on both of the Kinects I have.

    The kinects also blinks not sure if that means anything though.

    hi.
    sorry for delayed reply.
    you need first test kinect SDK if it will detect you. download kinect sdk and run body/skeleton sample.
    then we will know if this is kinect problem or my driver.

    Get kinect SDK 1.7 and kinect tool developer 1.7 if you are using the kniect 360 on a win10.

    I had the v1.8 but after reading some forums, they said to use v1.7 instead for win10.

    so something went wrong with uninstalling 1.8. and now the driver refuses to uninstall. tried going through the device manager to do it, through ccleaner and nothing is working. looks like i MAY have to do a fresh install of windows which will happen definitely not today.

    But if v1.8 works for you, then keep it. Use the developer tools to test the kinect and worked fine. But the v1.7 seemed to have better compatibility for me (and for other people posting on its forums).
    For me, fresh install is the last resource to do, it is annoying lol

    Can you do a rollback instead?

    i think 1.7 will not work for you. it has even different signature and will not link.

    I just finished reinstalling windows. i’ll pick up 1.8 again and give it a try again. hopefully it was just something got messed up along the way on the initial install and it was user error. I should be able to test it here in about 25 minutes or so.

    @Greg Driver, so you advise to go up to v1.8?
    v1.7 has incompatibilities with driver4vr?
