Help needed! Daydream only without kinect or anything.

I only got a Pimax and Daydream controller and bought the driver, thought it would work, but not sure what i do wrong.

I paired the daydrea controller and it shows up in the devices and i can see it rotating in the driver4vr window, but nowhere in steam vr home and none of the buttons seem to work. Of course the driver is started.

Do i have to setup a virtual controller? Or use the Oculus option below the devices option?

did you assigned daydream to each tracker?
did you set hand tracking to virtual trackers ?

No. I dont have any sort of tracker nor is there any info about how to procede with the setup after paring! There is no info around about what a virtual tracker is. I only have and want the daydream controller or ps4 pad to navigate steam vr home, as pimax does not provide any controller.

Got a kinect v2, but can not get it to run due to usb problems.

The daydream controller runs now with the help of the “add a 2nd daydream controller” video.

Kinect does not run at all.
Daydream works good.

What is best for headtracking kinect or ps cam?

kinect is easier to setup and work with pure skeleton tracking.
ps eyes will give you 360 degree. and they work with ps moves only.
