Hello @greg , I’ve been messing with driver4vr and had issues getting it setup. I wan’t to share my experience to you all also since this Forum isn’t really active. hopefully my findings clear things up for other users having issues and maybe this can help greg. Here’s my current vr setup for my pc:
– Samsung Galaxy s8 inside Smartphone VR case
– Riftcat vridge 1.3.4
– x2 ddluck bluetooth controllers (very similar to the one in your vids. link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6SMAXW/ )
– Leap Motion (on latest Orion build)
– SteamVR is currently set on that “openvr-inputemulator-temporary” build
*I have a kinect 360 coming in the mail tomorrow. I will probably get a much better experience once it’s setup on driver4vr*
*before using driver4vr, I followed a tutorial that provided leap drivers to be installed into steamvr drivers folder. the Leap drivers were from cbuchner1 on github (link: https://github.com/cbuchner1/driver_leap/releases )
featured in this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qk2QlvKLWOA )
it turned out that this was initially conflicting with driver4vr since I had the vive controllers from that show on steamvr, along with your leap drivers, @greg.
I uninstalled their leap drivers from my computer and am using your leap drivers exclusively. *
some input works. some don’t. currently testing out the mapping via “button mapping” button next to “controller settings” and “Leap Motion” (hand controllers) drop down menu. I like the simplicity of mapping with the “VR Gamepad to VR Controller key mapping – new 🙂” button located on the bottom-right of driver4vr instead, but I do not know if that is properly mapping the input. Driver4vr SEEs the input when I map it, but in-game (or steamvr home) it is not fully fuctional. if I click the key assigned to “touchpad” I do hear some response in steamvr. just nothing pops up.
In-game menu or steam vr dashboard not popping up. I do not know if I’m doing it correctly, but menu is not popping up in games. pretty much “system” and “menu” buttons aren’t working in-game.
I’m testing all this on VRChat and I’m unable to bring up the menu from my controllers. I’m currently only able to wave my hands around, jump, sit down in chairs, and move forward/backwards/strafe-left/strafe-right (cannot rotate/turn). movement is only working with one stick (right joypad).
again, this is when I map to the mapping button on the bottom right of driver4vr.
– Should I use the PseudoVive setting inside driver4vr?
– does latest Leap Orion drivers conflict with anything?
– can you breakdown what the actions do inside “Button mapping” button? I am unsure exactly what “controller move/rotate”, “move”, and “turn left/right” actions will do with my joypads. I just want the left joypad stick control movement and the right joypad stick to control rotation (like when using a single gamepad controller)2018-01-17 at 00:23 #2237ajayajayajParticipant
Try getting the OpenVR-InputEmulator beta for steamvr.2018-01-17 at 00:44 #2238bad.booParticipant
OpenVR-InputEmulator beta is something related to the controllers, right?
I looked it up but it seems it will be temporal solution. After Jan 22 will no longer be available.

Currently using that build. it will be gone next week unfortunately. I dunno if steamVR will update to that or revert to current stable build.2018-01-17 at 01:50 #2241ajayajayajParticipant
Ok, I thought I just didn’t know the controls, but I could open up the system menu but not do anything else (warp or anything). Is this what you are experiencing?2018-01-17 at 03:23 #2243
I can’t even pull up any menus. I’m limited to basic movement with the joysticks with my bluetooth joypads. can’t grip or use trigger. I’ve seen people report the same in:2018-01-17 at 03:27 #2244
well, to correct myself, I can jump and take seat in VRChat with the mapped buttons. But I definitely can’t bring up VRChat menu while playing.2018-01-17 at 08:02 #2246
today i will send test version with new openvr api with some fixes and extra logs.
we need to get these buttons sorted as it is really annoying !

Great to hear, Greg! The broken button input in-game is killing me, haha.
For the time being, I disabled hand controllers on driver4vr and am currently using leap driver for steamvr that someone else made. This certain leap driver mimics vive controllers and uses gestures for controller input. Very buggy/innaccurate compared to using joypads, but its the only way it works right now.
Im still using driver4vr for my kinect though. Very excited to switch back to using your hand controllers once they’re fixed!2018-01-18 at 15:13 #2273
hi. tomorrow should send working version. a lot of changed due to new api.
for dk2 it seems like I have to emulate touch as revive does not want to work.2018-01-18 at 15:56 #2282
Awesome! Looking forward to testing it out once you release it. Keep up the great work, @greg2018-01-18 at 16:44 #2287
you can try this one but for dk2 not all buttons will work.
