I can’t seem to edit the above post but I forgot to mention that I got the ps4 motion controller just by going to a local store since they didn’t have the ps3 motion controller in stock.
Other forums mention that it is ps4 motion controllers that have the magnetometer disabled while the ps3 motion controllers have them enabled. I didn’t want to waste anymore money on uncertain results so I haven’t tried the ps3 motion controllers though since it would then cost more than if I went and got the HTC vive pucks with 100% 360 degree accurate tracking.
